New models and special attractions for all to see
If it is new car models you want to see, the Auto Show is the place to be! New vehicles will be unveiled at this year's Montréal International Auto Show, making their official Canadian début in style. Prototypes and Concepts models will be introduced to the press on Thursday, November 21 - the day before the show is set to open to the public. Visitors will get a chance to see these new models, thanks to a special sign system, courtesy of Rogers AT&T, which will clearly identify the special vehicles on display.
Riopelle Place
In the quest to offer more to the visitor, the Auto Show is introducing a series of activities and special attractions throughout the display area. There is something for everyone at this year's Auto Show, including a special tribute to Jean-Paul Riopelle, the great Canadian artist. As visitors will see, Riopelle was more than just an accomplished painter; he also had a great passion for cars. With the collaboration of the Musée du Québec, the family and the estate of the renowned artist, the Auto Show will feature a display honouring Riopelle, where visitors will get a chance to admire two of Riopelle's favourite cars - a 1934 Bugatti and a 1939 Citroën. The display will also include a bronze sculpture of Riopelle, as well as photos of the Québec painter and his works of art.
Break out of the mould with SLP Canada
SLP Canada is a Montréal company located in the Lachine borough which, until recently, modified old Firebirds and Camaros into enhanced, high-performance vehicles more popularly known as the Firehawk and the Camaro SS. Never one to step away from new challenges, SLP Canada is now developing a new breed of popular vehicles - electric cars that are high on performance and low on gas emissions and pollutants. One of the main characteristics of these vehicles is the type of material used for its body and parts. Indeed, they are made of plastic, which is used to mould the vehicle and the result is a breathtaking and sleek form. Visitors to the Auto Show will get the opportunity to see five selected vehicles created by SLP Canada - three of which are electric cars destined for the U.S. market, including the Cree SAM, the Corbin Merlin and the Corbin Sparrow. Also featured will be a completely restored 1960 Renault Dauphine, but converted to electric power, as well as a beautiful 1953 Allard J2X, with its well-known racing car features that made it an international legend in the 1950s.
