American Colin Edwards and his MotoGP team Tech 3 Yamaha announced today at Laguna Seca that the 34-year-old driver will remain with the team in 2009 after announcing a one-year extension to his contract.
Edwards who is having one of his best seasons in MotoGP, lying in fifth position in the championship, had planned to retire at the end of the present season and go back to America to race for Yamaha.
