IndyCar driver Danica Patrick finished 27th at the Michigan Speedway in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, concluding another tough outing in stock car racing.
Having started a distant 33rd, she struggled with a loose car for most of the first half of the distance and dropped a lap down after lap 20.
She improved significantly in the second half of the race but in the end a 27th place was all she was be able to collect, missing her top-20 target on her sixth Nationwide series start.
Patrick will be back in the Nationwide Series on September 26 at the one-mile, highly banked, Dover International Speedway.
