Talk about sweetening the deal. Ford announced that the Navigator, from their luxury branch Lincoln, will arrive in showrooms next month carrying a

list of impressive hardware and amenities. It boasts the best in class third-row seat legroom, three-row safety canopy side curtain airbag system and Advance-Trac with roll stability control for a safe and secure ride.

It's MSRP, which is between $46,575 and $51,475 represents an average of $4,100 less than the asking price for the 2006 base model. Residual lease-end value is expected to be improved as well.

A Navigator L model extends the cargo area by some 15 inches, opening an additional 24 cubic feet of cargo space. The L model is due out in September.

Power from the 5.4 litre Triton V8 no longer requires premium fuel as the unit has been reworked to run on regular. A six-speed automatic is standard, and the towing capacity has been increased to 9000 lbs.

The new original American Luxury SUV is available in two trim levels: Navigator and Navigator Ultimate. Business class comfort features include a power-folding third row seat, power pedals and mirrors, and even power-deployable running boards. The Ultimate package starts at $48,575.

The L package adds $3,000 to the price tag, while 4x4 utility requires another $2,900 investment. No matter the room or capability owners are after, Navigator is a sweet deal which is now working harder than ever to deliver its trademark brand of luxury to its fans.
