Rodney Hawk, Deena Mastracci, and Carl Reese recently crossed the U.S. from Los Angeles to New York with a Tesla Model S P85D in a time of 58 hours and 55 minutes, unofficially setting a new record for electric cars in the process.

The trio left Los Angeles City Hall on April 16th at 11:41 p.m. PST and arrived at New York City Hall on April 19th at 1:36 p.m EST. Per Guinness, they also recorded the “least non-driving time to cross the U.S. in an electric vehicle,” meaning the shortest amount of charging time, with just 12 hours and 48 minutes.

Naturally, the feat was achieved using Tesla’s growing network of Supercharger stations. The team of timekeepers, aided by global fleet tracking company GPS Insight, followed the drivers in a Chevrolet Suburban. Other sponsors included InspectMobile.com, TeslaGrille.com, and Chalkolot.com.
