4th place: Honda Civic – 26,371 units
The Civic has been Canada’s favourite car for the last 13 years, and is currently in the lead for 2011. But despite the recent redesign, the 2012 Civic is only a couple thousand units ahead of the Hyundai.
Instead of revolutionizing the Civic, Honda has deciding to improve a winning recipe with a new-but-recognizable shape, a more efficient base 1.8-litre engine and improved refinement as the expense of sportiness.
The performance-oriented Civic Si is also new, and has traded its high-revving 2.0-litre engine for a torquier 2.4-litre unit.
