Ford Flex

I think I have a soft spot for original designs. You be the judge. I’ve added the Ford Flex to my list, a novel approach Ford has taken and one whose merit must be recognized. The Flex has nothing in common with other models. Its tall, hearse-like quality isn’t for everyone, and neither is its oversize grille. But the model is well-balanced overall and the interior finish is flawless, as is the drive.

There is no doubt that the Ford Flex deserved the Truck of the Year award it received its first year out, but beyond that the Flex marks the rebirth of Ford, demonstrating that the American automaker could still be creative even while weathering a severe storm. Hats off to both the vehicle and what it represents.

Mazda Miata
MX-5

It’s hard not to like this diminutive, efficient and fun little roadster. You don’t buy one for its brute power, but rather for its unique driving experience truly reminiscent of a go-kart. The new generation is wider, more docile and little too civilized.

I have a soft spot for the second generation, as you can tell, a great car that still manages to turn its fair share of heads today. The beauty of this Miata is the driving enjoyment it procures, even at low speed, as well as its very affordable price. A great way to make roofless cruising a little more accessible.
