Subaru Forester

The “small” Japanese automaker's lineup has long been home to a nice array of utility vehicles over the seasons, to say the least. This is a brand that resonates strongly with Canadian consumers, also to say the least.
The Forester is the oldest model in the group, if you exclude the Outback wagon that first got the ball rolling in the mid-1990s. The Forester is shorter than the Outback and is more of a true competitor to the compact SUVs in this segment, while the Outback can compete against the mid-size models with its more accommodating trunk.
Aside from introducing the Wilderness version last year, Subaru keeps the Forester relatively unchanged, and the model certainly remains true to its winning formula with its car-like ride and distinctive sound thanks to that flat-4 engine.
