2023 Subaru Solterra and Toyota bZ4X
The two Japanese automakers, one massive and one just big, first collaborated on the GT86/FR-S/BRZ sports cars, so they have a history. This time, the partners are working on a project that is much more important for the image – and the future - of each brand than those niche models.
The two coming electric crossover are clearly similar, both inside and out. On the Toyota side, the automaker will offer a two-wheel-drive version, while at Subaru, to no one’s surprise the all-wheel-drive tradition at the centre of its being means the Solterra will be had in a four-wheel-drive configuration or it won’t be had at all. Not that anyone’s complaining…
