Koreans and trucks steal the spotlight

We’re right smack in the middle of winter, but that doesn’t mean automakers have freezed new model launches. Quite the opposite, in fact. Over the past few days, there were many unveilings and announcements that generated a buzz. Auto123.com has also published reviews of brand new models that will soon become hits on the Canadian market.

First, the 2017 Kia Niro is bound to make waves among small SUVs and crossovers not only with its modern and distinctive looks, but also with its money-saving hybrid powertrain. Click on the link to read the first impressions of our colleague Matt St-Pierre!

Another Korean manufacturer is making headlines these days. Hyundai’s 2018 Elantra GT made its North American debut at the Chicago Auto Show, including a Sport model with 201 horsepower, and news came out that the world premiere of the 2018 Accent will take place at the Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto on February 16th.

Trucks are all the rage now, and we witnessed an avalanche of new models such as the 2017 Ram 1500 Copper Sport and other limited editions, a pair of Nissan TITAN Pro-4X Project Trucks equipped with Nissan parts and accessories, the unstoppable 2017 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Recon, the 475-horsepower 2018 Dodge Durango SRT, the ultra-luxurious Volvo XC90 Excellence plus-in hybrid, and finally the Volkswagen Atlas Weekend Edition featuring innovative cargo solutions.

Next, we published a first-drive review of the new 2017 Volvo V90 Cross Country, a Swedish wagon that’s equal parts luxury and capability. Find out why it keeps getting so much praise since its launch!

Lastly, the 2017 World Car of the Year semi-finalists were announced this week. The Mazda CX-9, Chevy Bolt, Fiat 124 Spider, Audi Q5, and others are all in contention. Make your pick!
