Unsurprisingly, the Subaru Crosstrek is still in the top three in 2023, thanks in part to its 5-speed manual transmission, an option increasingly shunned by North American consumers but that helps keep the starting price down. For those who prefer – who at least don’t mind - the manual gearbox, it may be worthwhile to opt for the Crosstrek, one of the crossovers best equipped to handle our particular climate.
Its ground clearance and excellent all-wheel drive make it a candidate we recommend.
