“But we’re here today to talk about the new 9-4” said Anderson, Saab’s first entry into the premium crossover segment. Sharing a lot of technology with the 9-5, the “Swedish engineers were involved from the very get-go” despite its Cadillac SRX underpinnings. Featuring “Scandinavian” design with its ice-box headlights and aircraft inspired cockpit, the 9-4 is proclaimed to be a “truly a driver’s car”. It too, will offer two engine variants, 255-hp 3.0L or 2.8L turbocharged V6s.
Just rolling off the production line, the 9-4X will be in Canada by late May, and in dealerships in early June.
“We’ve been asked – do we think Saab will make it?” said Anderson. “We have a five-year business plan, everything is about upcoming future projects, we have strong partners, whether it’s global finance partners, or partners in technology. I’m extremely confident”.
