Genesis GV80
Making its Canadian premiere in Toronto, the Genesis GV80 is the first SUV developed by Hyundai's luxury division. The maiden 2021 model, scheduled to hit the market by the end of 2020, was designed collaboratively by studios in South Korea, the United States and Germany under the direction of Hyundai Motor Group's new design director, Luc Donckerwolke, formerly of Lamborghini.
Aesthetically, the GV80 carries many of the signature design elements recently adopted by Genesis, including the four-band grille, headlamps and a parabolic line that gives the profile its definition. "The four-lamp graphic will become the most recognizable and unique signature of the Genesis design," said Donckerwolke at the initial product presentation.
There will be two choices of turbo engines under the hood: a 2.5L 4-cylinder that's announced at 290 hp and a 3.5L turbocharged V6 with specs yet to come. Pricing will be announced later this fall.
