The Volkswagen BUDD-e was crowned as the 2016 Concept Truck of the Year during the 15th Annual North American Concept Vehicle of the Year Awards ceremony, which was held at the Concours d’Elegance of America at St. John’s in Plymouth, Michigan, on July 31st.
Originally introduced at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas last January, BUDD-e later wowed visitors at the New York Auto Show. It’s the first Volkswagen model based on the all-new electric modular platform known as MEB, which was specifically designed for plug-in vehicles.
This concept features all the latest in connectivity and infotainment such as voice and gesture recognition. It also boasts a 110kWh battery that provides a range of about 375 kilometres.
