3 - Drive modes
The Mustang can behave in several different ways, and you can unleash those different moods via the drive modes integrated within. There are six of them in all: Normal, Custom, Sport+, Track, Dragstrip and Wet/Snow. Do we need to tell you where the fun lies? I'll come back to this further down.
Now, while it’s great to have that versatility at your fingertips, the switch that allows the driver to toggle from one mode to another is, in the end, kind of infuriating. Rather than Ford giving us a knob that allows you to go directly to the desired mode, you have to change them sequentially. Also, when you first start up the engine, the mode is displayed without changing.
The result is that when you’re approaching, the time it takes to switch to Sport means you’ll often as not miss your mark. The system’s functioning needs to be streamlined.
4 - Track app
Via the menus of the car's information system, the driver can access a bevy of interesting features. One of them is a Track application that allows different times to be recorded, for example for accelerating from a stop up to 50, 100 or 200 km/h, or decelerating from 100 or 200 km/h. The keyword here of course is Track; do not try this at home, on public roads.
