Pros: The 2015 Buick Enclave is an elegant, sophisticated crossover with a clean and ultra-spacious cabin. The engine is strong, and the ride is comfortable in typical Buick fashion. Several advanced safety features boost confidence behind the wheel.

Cons: Enclave is low on equipment and its fuel consumption is high. The automatic transmission, while improved last year, still shows some indecisiveness. Overall, this vehicle drives just the way it is -- big.

2015 Buick Enclave Pricing: A base FWD model starts at $47,760 (plus freight and delivery charges). Adding AWD increases the price to $50,760, or $55,260 with the Premium Package.

2015 Buick Enclave Fuel Economy: Enclave FWD has a highway fuel consumption rating of 9.9L/100km -- with available AWD, the highway fuel consumption rating is 10.2L/100km. In the city, however, these ratings jump to 14.2L and 14.6L/100km, respectively.

Improvements and Changes: The base Convenience model has been dropped, meaning the 2015 Enclave starts at a higher price. Also, the Premium Package is no longer offered with FWD.

Powertrain: A 3.6L V6 engine with variable valve timing and direct injection puts 288 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque at your beck and call. A 6-speed automatic transmission is part of the equation. In challenging driving conditions, the Enclave’s available AWD system constantly monitors the traction at all four wheels and sends power to the wheels with the most grip.

Cargo Capacity: The trunk can haul 660 litres of cargo. If you fold the third- and second-row seats, you'll get 1,951 and 3,263 litres, respectively.

Safety: The already extensive list of safety features includes a new front centre-mounted airbag -- an industry first, it’s one of seven airbags in total. Side Blind Zone Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and StabiliTrak with traction control all come standard.

Comparing the 2015 Buick Enclave: Other large premium SUV/CUV models worth checking out include the Audi Q7, Acura MDX, Mercedes-Benz ML, Infiniti QX60, Lexus GX, and Volvo XC90.
