- - 2017 Challenger: $32,595 to $77,245
Chrysler’s modern-day muscle car features a more retro look than its competitors and is frankly more intriguing than ever, particularly as the automaker has filled out the model lineup with the all-wheel drive Challenger GT, the limited-edition Challenger Mopar and, just recently, the ferocious 840-hp 2018 Challenger SRT Demon (so fast it compelled the National Hot Rod Association to ban it from its drag strips in the U.S.!).
In all, the 2017 Challenger catalogue includes no fewer than 11 versions, not to mention the vast selection of options that include up to 13 exterior colours and 9 interior finishes to help buyers fully personalize their car’s design.
Under the hood, more choices: a 3.6L Pentastar V6 (305 hp), a 5.7L HEMI V8 (375 hp), the famed 392, which is a 6.4L HEMI producing 485 hp, and a 6.2L supercharged V8 HEMI available only with the Challenger SRT Hellcat, for which it can generate up to 707 hp.
For fans of adrenaline, a Sport mode and the hill start assist feature are available as options, while an 8-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission is offered standard on all models (a 6-speed manual is available). Then there’s the Super Track Pack package, which adds a lowered sport suspension with Bilstein shocks and high-performance brakes.
