Toyota Canada has announced full details for the new 2019 Toyota Yaris Hatchback, including pricing for each trim. The company had previously provided details and pricing for the 2019 Yaris Sedan, which you can consult here.
The 2019 Yaris Hatchback can be had in either three-door or five-door format; its hatch gives the small car a large and versatile cargo capacity in the back; that versatility is enhanced by the presence of 60/40 split fold-down rear seats.
Among the amenities that welcome the Hatchback’s five occupants are heated front seats, power windows and doors and a sprinkling of storage spaces. Technology features include a 6.1-inch-display audio system with USB audio inputs, Bluetooth connectivity and steering wheel-mounted controls.
The powertrain
Every version of the front-wheel-drive 2019 Yaris Hatchback is powered by a 1.5L 4-cylinder engine; the unit includes variable valve timing with intelligence and sequential multiport electronic fuel injection, and is wedded to either a 5-speed manual gearbox of 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. The model’s urban-driving bonafides are enhanced by the car’s extremely tight turning radius and pot-hole absorbing suspensions system.
Safety technologies are headlined by the presence of the Toyota Safety Sense C package, which features three advanced active safety systems (pre-collision system, lane departure alert and automatic high beams). Other safety features standard on all models include the Toyota Star Safety System, nine airbags and a back-up camera.
The trims
The base Yaris 3-Door Hatchback CE comes with, among other items, a 4-speaker audio system, passenger-side rear walk-in assist, 15-inch styled steel wheels, colour-keyed bumpers and door handles and reflector-style halogen headlamps.
Next up is the Yaris 5-Door Hatchback LE, which features the above as well as climate and cruise control, keyless entry and power adjustable and heated exterior mirrors.
The sportier Yaris 5-Door Hatchback SE adds disc brakes on all four wheels, front row sport seats clad in sport fabric material, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, 6-speaker audio system, 16” alloy wheels with wheel locks, a rear spoiler, projector-style halogen headlamps, fog lamps and LED daytime running lights.
