New-Brunswick/Nova-Scotia - Winding mountain roads and rugged coastline provided a picturesque background for launching GM's 2007 Silverado and Sierra trucks. Canadian automotive journalists participating in the event enjoyed a glimpse into Maritime culture while evaluating the trucks on a variety of road conditions.

Although sharing DNA, the two trucks feature unique sheet metal and cabin design. They're built on the new GMT900 platform, the architecture underpinning the 2007 Cadillac Escalade, GMC Yukon, Chevrolet Tahoe and Avalanche.

In addition to a new, stiffer frame, improved aerodynamics and sound absorption materials, steering is an upgraded rack and pinion system.

Three cab styles, three box lengths, and five suspension packages are available. Eight new engines offer a range of light duty or heavy towing capabilities - iron or aluminum blocks, Flex Fuel (E85 ethanol) or Active Fuel Management(tm)" . All are mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. The maximum towing package has a class-leading capacity of 10,500 lbs.
