BMW-Sauber boss Mario Theissen has vowed to wait on the outcome of Timo Glock's negotiation with other F1 teams before naming a test driver for 2008.

GP2 frontrunner Glock is reportedly close to securing a race drive with Toyota.

"We would gladly continue with Timo, but it depends on his situation," Theissen told reporters at Spa-Francorchamps on Thursday.

"We are leaving the door open for him. If he finds accommodation elsewhere, then we will find a replacement.

"But there is no reason to hurry, because even with the November tests we prefer to have the actual race drivers in the car anyway," he added.

Theissen has been a vocal critic of the current testing rules that do not allow rising drivers many test miles.

The German revealed that "discussions" are going on about adding 3000-4000 kilometres to the test agreement next year exclusively for young drivers.

"But there is no decision about that yet," he added.

Theissen also said BMW's factories in Munich and Hinwil are now working "nearly 100 per cent" on the development of the 2008 car, given BMW-Sauber's unassailable position in the constructors' title.
