Electrification is also a priority for the German luxury brand, BMW having been one of the first to make a serious commitment to the technology. For now, the PHEV option still exists in the current range.

Aside from the 7 Series, which has switched to all-electric or internal combustion-engine format, the same models remain in place as far as the plug-in hybrid offering is concerned: the 3 Series and 5 Series cars , as well as the X3 and X5 SUVs.

We shouldn’t forget – how could we? - the new XM, the prestige SUV that takes advantage of electrification to achieve a staggering 740 hp in its most electrifying version.

Possible range (in electric mode): 50 km (X5).

The American brand currently has a razor-thin lineup and will soon need reinforcements, but for 2023, there is the Pacifica minivan as a plug-in hybrid option. On this front, nothing has changed.
