Celebrating its 152nd birthday, Italy's police service received a special gift from automaker Lamborghini - a brand new Lamborghini Gallardo. Donated by the Sant' Agata Bolognese-based firm, this charging bull possesses a 500 horsepower V10 motor capable of propelling the sleek supercar to speeds in excess of 300 km/h (186 mph).
Of course, the Gallardo has been finished in the traditional police car livery, which includes bright blue paint with white stripes, plus the requisite decals, sirens and blue light bar mounted atop the roof.

This cockpit of this Gallardo, however, isn't like most. Rather than sporting a radar detector and a twelve-disc CD changer, it's stuffed to the gills with sophisticated perpetrator-nabbing equipment. An aftermarket LCD screen has been fitted to the Gallardo's center console, which feeds information from the satellite navigation system, as well as the information from the police data bank about previous infractions (speeding, most likely). Much of the equipment is stored between and behind the driver and passenger's seat, rather than up front around the center console as in most police cars.
