Despite the recent setbacks of having lost her primary sponsor Dollar General and driver Ed Carpenter, Sarah Fisher Racing is moving on and has ordered two brand new cars for the 2012 IZOD IndyCar season.

Sarah Fisher, who started her own team four years ago got a taste of victory for the first time this season when the team earned a brilliant victory at the Kentucky Speedway last month.

But soon thereafter, the team had announcee that it had lost its long-time financial backer Dollar General and, only last week, Sarah Fisher learned that Ed Carpenter had decided to start his own team.

Despite all these bad news, Fisher, along with husband Andy O’Gara, has decided to move forward and put her energies on the upcoming 2012 season.

First off, she has to find the money to fulfill her dreams and it appears that some tangible progress has been made although she’s not racy to divulge anything at this time.

She wants also to continue with her practice of hiring a driver rather than take on someone bringing a large check.

“We want to be able to hire who best fits the team,” she said. “We plan on hiring a new driver for next year and we’re looking for a driver whose strengths are well-rounded. And as a team, we also have to match that [driver’s] ability on the road and street courses.”
