J.D. Powers and Associates conduct various market surveys. One of their better known in the automotive world is the sales satisfaction index study. This evaluation examines new-car owner's level of contentment with the sales process.
The nameplates are rated on a score of 1000 points. The scores are a reflection of the fact that more cars are now equipped with features that people want coupled with the length of time that they spend in dealerships.
For the second year in a row, Jaguar has topped the chart. In fact, Jaguar and Lexus were tied for first position last year. This year, Jaguar edged out Lexus by one point: 889 to 888. Third place is a tie between Buick and Porsche at 878 points.
With the Industry Average score at 842 points, only Chrysler of the Big 3 was unable to place one of its brands above it. The lowest ranking is Isuzu at 743 points.
