And what about the South Koreans? Excluding Daewoo, which is now built and sold under Chevy and Suzuki nameplates, only

Hyundai and Kia remain on the Canadian market. But between these two, many traditional competitors are getting mighty worried. Hyundai's Sonata just took title to North America's most reliable vehicle, according to Consumer Reports, and the new Sonata looks like it will match that claim with world class driving dynamics, plus top-tier fit and finish. Hyundai also had its new Tucson SUV at the show, which is winning awards and accolades around the world. Kia showed it's compact Sportage SUV, which shares much of its general architecture with the Tucson, and therefore is equal to the Hyundai SUV in every way.

Of course, it wouldn't be an auto show without a solid lineup of exotics to tease onlookers, and the star of this group was hard to pick. Could it be the bright silver Porsche Carrera GT, or the deep black Lamborghini

The richest door prize to ever been given away at any auto show in the world will be on its way to a lucky new owner Sunday, a 2005 Dodge Viper SRT-10, worth close to $130,000. (Photo: Shawn Pisio, Canadian Auto Press)
MurciƩlago Roadster which sat next to a Gallardo coupe? How about the gorgeous Bentley Continental GT or the equally stunning Aston Martin DB9 coupe? Ferrari would have something to say about that, entering its dramatic new F430 into the ring, and it's hard to argue against Maserati's new Quattroporte sedan or Gran Sport coupe.

All-round, the Pacific International Auto Show in Vancouver offers up some tantalizing new cars and concepts that even jaded car enthusiasts will find themselves gazing at, jaws agape. Adding to the drool, the richest door prize to ever been given away at any auto show in the world will be on its way to a lucky new owner Sunday, a 2005 Dodge Viper SRT-10, worth close to $130,000! The doors will close Sunday, after a ten day run.
