Already established in the United States, the Turo application is now available to Canadian vehicle owners. The concept behind the app is a simple one: when you’re not using your vehicle, you can rent it out to other individuals and earn some extra income. Simply upload a few photos and a brief description of your car, and interested customers can contact you to reserve it!
Obviously, people might not want to hand over their vehicle to a complete stranger without some kind of protection. Insurance companies Novex (in Ontario and Alberta) as well as Intact Assurance and Bélair Direct in Quebec offer a $2 million insurance policy.
