Kia Sportage (gas-only, hybrid and PHEV)

The Tucson’s crosstown cousin returns for 2025 relatively unchanged, as we await that new Sportage comiong for 2026, and just introduced at the Los Angeles Auto Show. For 2025 it is again available with gas, hybrid and PHEV power, the latter with an EV range of 55 km.
Base models get a 2.5L 4-cylinder good for 187 hp and 178 lb-ft, while the PHEV model tops the line-up power-wise with 277 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. It offers slightly more EV range than the Tucson, 55 compared to 51. It also gets ultra-unique wraparound LED DRLs as well as triangle-shaped headlight lenses. It also gets dual digital displays for its gauge cluster and infotainment display.

Mazda CX-50 (gas-only and hybrid)

The big news with Mazda’s squatter, more athletic take on the popular CX-5 crossover is the addition of a hybrid powertrain. Not just any hybrid powertrain, either, but one shared with the Toyota RAV4 which remains one of the highest-selling hybrid vehicles on the market today. It makes 219 hpand Mazda claims 6.2L/100 km in the combined cycle.
All CX-50 models, meanwhile, now get last year’s optional larger 10.3-inch infotainment display as well as standard Amazon Alexa.
