According to autosport, BMW and SEAT are expected to announce downsized programmes for 2010-2011. BMW is believed to plan a reduced line-up of two cars. As for SEAT, a complete withdrawal is possible.
BMW will most likely cut work in half, going from five to two cars as ROAL Motorsport is expected to pull out of the series following Alex Zanardi's departure.
Schnitzer Motorsport should remain for another year, but might be leaving at the end of 2010 to focus on VLN endurance series in Nurburgring. The RBM team would then be left with only two cars to run.
BMW's Motorsport boss Mario Theissen said that BMW would announce its 2010 programme on December 5.
As for the future of SEAT, it is expected not to be link with the WTCC series. The brand has already announced they will now pursue their partnership with them ORECA next year.
The brand should keep a two-car works team in 2010, according to WTCC boss Marcello Lotti. The Spanish manufacturer is also expected to announce its programme next week.
Chevrolet should run three cars next year, as is Lada.
Lotti hopes that the new regulations starting in 2011 will attract more manufacturers in the sport.
