Cadillac
The American luxury automaker was one of the first to take an interest in automotive electrification with the ELR coupe, based on the same platform as the Chevrolet Volt. But now it's all about all-electric vehicles, and Cadillac has ambitions to offer a fully electric lineup within a few years.
But you can’t complete a marathon until you take a first step. And that’s something Cadillac is finally ready to do, with the imminent launch of the Lyriq crossover, the brand's first ever electric vehicle.
Cadillac has also already given a broad outline of what else is to come after the Lyriq. Other models will be added to the fully electric lineup – more SUVs, more crossovers, more cars even - but in 2022, the spotlight is on the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq, set to be the only all-electric option in the brand’s lineup for now.
Ironically, Cadillac is also launching this year the Escalade-V, a high-performance beast of an SUV that will delight big car enthusiasts but is as far as you can possibly get from an energy-efficient BEV! Such is the weirdness of our times…
