Defending Champions Patrick Richard and Alan Ockwell went home with one more victory this week-end as they won the Baie-des-Chaleurs Rally.
Antoine L'Estage and Nathalie Richard did try, along with Americans Ken Block and Alessandro Gelsomino, to stop Richard, but the Canadiens crossed the start-finish line first... no where near both other competitors!
Althought he finished first of the first three specials of the week-end, Ken Block was unable to avoid an excursion off-road, one that cost him victory.
As for L'Estage, he once again suffered mechanical problems all along the road. He thought the problems were over during the last special as he got back two seconds behins leader Richard, but it was only to get further down minutes later. He finishes forth.
Local teams Martin Gauvin/Daniel Duchesneau and Craig Henderson/Lyne Murphy completed a 100% Subaru podium as 33 of the 48 starting teams rallied the start-finish line.
Jan and Jody Zedril, in their Mitsubishi Lancer ES, added another victory in the two-wheels drive class.
The Canadian Rally Championship will be back on the roads on September 11th and 12th at Ste-Agathe, QC, for the Rally Défi.
