In order to pull consumer eyeballs towards Jaguar's Certified Vehicle Pre-Owned vehicle program the British marque, now solely owned by Ford's Premier Auto Group, is touting some heavyweight stars from the past.

To be technically accurate the alloy bodied 1961 E-Type roadster in these pictures is more of a lightweight, but its 400+ horsepower racing spec 4.2-L inline 6-cylinder engine, converted in 1984, connects to the road with a solid one, two punch.

The stunningly beautiful E-Type is considered by many as the most attractive of all sportscars of its era, and possibly the most handsome car of all time. Click on the picture gallery link to see 10 additional photos. (Photo: Jaguar)

While they won't be coming to Canada specifically, we should be able to catch a glimpse of these beauties on cable TV, while continuing their successful runs in the very competitive Sports Vintage Racing Association (SVRA) series and Historic Sportscar Racing (HSR) events.

Although most pre-owned Jaguar buyers probably are thinking XJ or X-Type, the flying XKEs will do a lot for the brand's image. The graceful model is considered by most classic aficionados as the most beautifully designed car to have ever been produced. This early Series 1 motor racing example is particularly stunning.
