2022 Full-Size Luxury SUV of the Year: BMW X7
In this category, six vehicles received multiple first, second or third place votes. There are plenty of interesting players, that's a given, including the new Jeep Grand Wagoneer, which was a favourite of one of our voters. However, it was the BMW X7 that came out ahead of the Mercedes-Benz GLS for the second year in a row.
The reason? We could point to the slight nasty edge of the X7’s character, absent for the most part from the more-sedate GLS. As for the new Jeep, time will tell if it can truly establish itself as a big shot in this category.

2022 Full-Size Pickup of the Year: Ram 1500
This is the category that most people are interested in, as it contains the best-selling models in the industry. And of course, it’s also the one that generates the most heated debate, because there are loyalists in every camp and each one defends its cause ferociously. Voting is always close, too, because changes to competing products are constant. The arms race in this segment is impressive to watch, to say the least.
This year, for example, Toyota presents a new-generation model and Chevrolet has substantially reworked its Silverado. That was enough to see their models finish on the podium, but they still came second and third, with the Ram 1500 coming out on top.
