2022 Luxury Compact SUV of the Year: Genesis GV70
Like the Telluride over at Kia, the GV70 has been getting rave reviews and piling up the awards since it arrived on the market, including in Canada. The Genesis GV70 has a winning design that helps it stand out from the crowd in the industry, and it’s just as unique and seductive inside, with plenty of comely curves, advanced tech and high-quality materials.
And there’s more even to the GV70 than that, as both powertrains are very well suited to the vehicle's chassis. In the end, despite some stiff competition, the vehicle offering the whole package wins.

2022 Luxury Midsize SUV of the Year: Porsche Cayenne
We mentioned in the introduction that there were several categories that were near toss-ups, and in which we could have seen multiple winners. The mid-size luxury SUV category is a good example. With the Genesis GV80, Land Rover Defender 110 and Porsche Cayenne on a ballot, the vote could have gone any of three ways.
In the end, however, there was actually consensus for the top spot, and it was for the Cayenne. Here, the fault lies not with its competitors, but with Porsche, which has been refining its flagship SUV for two decades now and makes a product that’s just really hard to match.
When buyers of a model don't even look elsewhere, it says a lot about the product.
