2022 Adventure Vehicle of the Year: Ford Bronco Sport
Over the past few years, we've had to create a new category: adventure vehicles. The reason is simple; manufacturers are increasingly offering "adventure" versions of their models, variants that have a bit more off-road capability, or at least look the part.
There are so many of these around now that we've separated them out into two categories this year: the light off-road adventure segment, and the genuine off-roaders club.
In the former, it was the Ford Bronco Sport that won ahead of the new Wilderness versions of the Subaru Outback and Forester. In third place, the Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk.

2022 Off-Road Vehicle of the Year: Ford Bronco
When it comes to real off-road outings, the kind where you're likely to lose your phone signal, models are getting more and more capable. And lo and behold, the Jeep Wrangler, which has long dominated this niche, is overtaken on our voting by its new great rival, the Ford Bronco in Badland, Sasquatch and soon Raptor versions.
In third place, a model that can follow them anywhere, the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2. Yes, the competition is of high calibre, let's say.
