Koenigsegg Founder Believes CCR Can Go Even Faster

Exactly how fast is fast? Some rather conservative folks might call fast 120 km/h - the average flow of traffic on most major North

American highways. The Germans and Japanese would most likely say 250 km/h - the speed which a large number of high-performance vehicles have been limited to. Most likely then, the majority of people would be inclined to agree that 321 km/h (200 mph) is extremely fast, pushing the outer limits of a vehicle. What about 388 km/h? Mind-bogglingly fast? Brain-scramblingly fast? To Swedish supercar maker Koenigsegg, and to the rest of the world, it is world record-setting fast.

production CCR at Italy's famous Nardo Prototipo proving grounds. The only modifications made were the addition of a roll cage, fire extinguisher, and data-logging equipment; the rest of the car was bone stock (if you could call it that).

In the hands of veteran tester and world record-breaker Loris Biocchi, the CCR was pushed to a top speed of 387.87 km/h. A team of technicians from Nardo Prototipo verified the speed of the CCR, utilizing photocell technology to record the average speed of the car over the course of one kilometre.
