2022 Sports Car (4-cylinder engine) of the Year: Volkswagen Golf GTI / Golf R
Our two categories dedicated above all to the fun of driving are obviously about sportiness and dynamism. Here, driving pleasure weighs heavily in the balance, but other considerations are not to be ignored, for example quality, reliability and price.
This year, not too surprisingly, it was the Volkswagen Golf GTI and R that were the winners. Get behind the wheel of one of these and you'll see why. The Mazda MX-5 finished second, ahead of the Hyundai Elantra N, another car that greatly impressed everyone on our panel.

2022 Sports Car (5-Cylinder Engine or More) of the Year: Chevrolet Corvette
With even more powerful models and refined sports cars, the choice is not easy. Each may be a favourite of every jury member. However, there is one vehicle that has risen above the fray this year, and it is the Chevrolet Corvette. Frankly, this car won everyone over with its staggering performance.
And why didn't it win last year? Simple: the majority of our jurors hadn't driven it yet. And no, it didn't win just because this year we did finally get behind the wheel. The C8 really is that impressive. And the Z06 version hasn't even shown up yet...
Behind the Corvette placed two other superb creations, the Porsche Boxster 718 and the CT4-V and CT5-V Blackwing duo from Cadillac.
