IIHS Crash Tests Toughened in 2023 : A Rivian R1T during an IIHS collision test

The IIHS has tightened criteria used for its coveted Safety Pick awards. The adjustments are designed to better reflect the increasing size and weight of vehicles on the market today. As a result of the adjustments, only 28 models still receive a best-possible Top Safety Pick+ rating.
