The Jordan team will run its new EJ13 with the new Ford RS1 V0 engine at Barcelona on January 20, the team announced on Wednesday.
Jordan has not run a car since the Japanese Grand Prix in October 2002 having decided to stay away from track running in favour of working solely on the new car. It also wanted to save on expensive running costs.
Giancarlo Fisichella will handle the driving responsibilities, the Italian who this year will drive in his second year for the Silverstone operation.
Jordan has yet to announce a launch date for the car but has scheduled an involved testing programme with four, four day stints at Barcelona and Valencia over January and February.
Meanwhile, fellow midfielder British American Racing said it would run its new 005-Honda at Barcelona on January 15, a day after the car's official unveiling.
The test will run for three days in which Jenson Button, Takuma Sato and Anthony Davidson will pilot the new machine.
